Peacefully at the McMaster Medical Centre on Thursday, July 29, 2004, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (predeceased by his wife Jean (1983). Cherished father of David (predeceased 2004) and his wife Shirley; Diane and her husband Ken Hopkins. Loving grandfather of Jamie (Shari), Randy, Matt and Julie, and great-grandfather of Tyler and Ashleigh, Brother of Gil (Agnes), predeceased by his brother Stan (Betty)Fondly remembered by his stepchildren Doug Allison, Lenore and Chuck Lewis, Stewart and Valerie Allison and families. Will be sadly missed by the Butcher family.

Ray was a veteran of WW II and served overseas with R.H.L.I.

Upon returning he enjoyed a long career with Hamilton Fire Department.

Ray was a lontime member of MacNab Street Presbyterian Church.
