It is with love and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a dear son to Trudy Meredith and a beloved husband to Janis for 42 years. A special Dad to Craig and Jennifer Meredith. A loving Papa to Paige, Camryn and Kayla. Sadly missed brother of Alison (Dave), Philip (Pat) and Angela. Also missed by his nieces and nephews. Paul was a proud Firefighter for 37 years. Following Paul's wishes cremation has taken place followed by a private family service.

If desired donations can be made to The Salvation Army.

Dan Milovanovic - I cannot express with words the loss I feel at losing a very dear friend and mentor for over two decades. Paul Meredith was one of a kind human being. He was sharp as the sharpest blade when he wanted to cut and as gentle as a feather when needed. His wit and humour will long be remembered. Rest easy my friend and go give some to St. Peter.

Dave Fitzpatrick Sad to hear this news , was truly dedicated to the HFD as was mentioned above. Our condolences to family and friends

Karen Roche Paul was more than a colleague...he was my friend and confidant ! I will miss him dearly 😩

Ken Koolfonk It was weird, but I was just telling a story about him to a client this afternoon... I went to the Hamilton Photographers Club meeting tonight and Randy Newstead was there - he told me it happened today... saw him over a year ago in the Western Caribbean - we were on the same cruise ship and bumped into each other out on the pool deck. Sad to hear he's gone.

Janet Dyack So sad!!! I too have many great memories of this man. Lots of laughs for sure. He was a dedicated man to the H.F.D. My heart goes out to his family. He will be deeply missed. Rest In Peace my friend!!

Troy Miller As I would take the garbage out at the rear if Stn 1 he would continue to remind me that I "Look Like a Mailman in Those Shorts"
To which I would reply, I applied to Canada post and they wouldn't take me, only the Fire Department would! Hahaha.
Rest in Piece Paul!
Condolences to your family and friends!

Terri Blore Paul was a great story teller.. he was funny, but ya knew when not to piss him off! He was a friend and a mentor. When I was acting, and I had a question, I knew I could go to him for help. He will certainly be missed. My condolences to Janice, Craig and family. Rest in peace Paul, and keep the laughter going.

Leslie Smith-Stringer Very sad RIP Paul

Connie Logue-Chudyk I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear Paul had passed away. Fun guy, serious too. RIP Paulie.

Dave Howse Great mentor and friend, since leaving Hamilton I lost touch with him but always enjoyed telling people about the best boss and leader I had the privilege to work with. RIP Paul and my thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.

Paddie Lucas I am sorry Dan. Beautiful words.

Kirby Klassen He was one of my Training Officers. On the exterior he came across as hard, but in reality he was a very fair man. I remember him giving me a month of night watches at Stn.#1 for telling him to F*%^ off in jest, after saying I would go blind for watching something on the TV in the side room........fair enough. At times he could be funny as hell and he was a great story teller! Rest in Peace Paul! My condolences to your family!

Shelley Baker-Gracie Sorry to hear Dan, losing a good friend is never easy, thinking of you ❤️

Linda Cooper - Paul was a true gentleman, he will sadly be missed.  If you were down, you could count on Paul to make you smile and feel better about things.  During difficult times, he was there.  I am so sorry to hear the news, my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
