KAVUK, George Sr.
March 6, 1930 - February 17, 2010 With
saddened hearts, and wonderful memories, we announce the passing of
George Kavuk Sr. in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Barbara
Kavuk (nee Aurini - 1998). Much loved father of George Jr. (Nancy),
Stephen (Kelly). Devoted and proud grandfather to Kristina Giusti
(Marco), Katelyn, Michael George, Michael Lauren and Kayla.
Great-grandfather of Gian Luca and Alessia. He will be sadly missed by
his sister Helen Oselka and brothers-in-law, Lee (Barb) Aurini, Terry
(Eleanor) Aurini and many nieces and nephews. George entered the Hamilton Fire Department in 1951 and retired in 1987 with the rank of Lieutenant. After retiring he enjoyed frequent travels to all points on the compass to visit friends and family. George was always on the go with family events and gatherings. Above all, George got great pleasure from watching his grandchildren succeed at sports and school. At George's request a cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will take place at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., followed by a service to celebrate George, held in the chapel. |
