Suddenly and peacefully, in his 79th

years and cherished father and father-in-law of Pauline,
Kim-Marie and Judy (Cliff MacDonald). Much loved and admired
Grandpa of Ryan, Leighh Anne, Jackie, Andrea, Dan, Brian,

(Flo), lone survivor Nana Mitchell's loving and boisterous
brood; predeceased by brothers and sisters Chick (Glad), Kay
(Les), Gord (Lillian), Dunc (Ivy), Jean (Stan), Jim (Shirley),
and Hugh (Della). Brother-in-law to Tom (Berangiere) Gill and
Winnie Stortz (Bud). Loving uncle and friend to many nieces and
nephews and their families and remained very close to them.
Bill considered it his great privilege to serve as a
Hamilton Firefighter for 38 years and maintained many
close friendship-s with his former colleagues. Bill was founder
and first president of the Hamilton Firefighters Drum Corps.
Bill continued his lifelong commitment to helping others
leaving family, friends and neighbours to wonder, "What will we
ever do without Bill?" His story telling was legendary and we
expect his stories to live on through generations of those who
knew and loved him.
