Surrounded with love, at St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, May 23, 2005, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband and best friend to his wife Barbara and predeceased by his first wife Ruth. Loving father to Brian and Sandra and the late Patricia Balon. Loved and respected stepfather to Lou-Ann, Laura-Lee and Phil, Clarke and Apryle, and Colin. Proud papa to his three special granddaughters, Shannon, Stephanie and Amanda Balon. Caring stepfather to Ryan and Kyle. Dear brother to Jim and Mary, Sam and Flo, Roy and Joan and Bob and Lori. Will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a proud member of the Hamilton Fire Department for 35 years and Past President and long time member of the Hamilton Fire Fighters Drum and Bugle Corps.

Bill enjoyed and participated in many sports; cycling, hockey, etc. and was a coach and member of the HAC. Bill had many close friends and was a loyal member of the Monday and Wednesday Morning Muffin Clubs.

 
Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Ave Dr., Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, May 27th at 11 am. Cremation to follow.
Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Breast Cancer Research would be appreciated by the family.
