Suddenly at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Sunday, November 14, 2010, Ray Leaist in his 81st year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Ann (nee Wright) in this same year, and now together with her eternally. Loving and supportive father to Paul (Christine) and Dianne. Cherished grandfather to Madison, Isaac and Sarah. Ray was a devoted firefighter with the Hamilton Department for 35 years, proudly serving for the first station located on the Hamilton Mountain. In his retirement he was able to enjoy extensive travelling with “his girl” Ann, spending time with his family, and woodworking. Ray loved designing and making exceptional wooden toys that delighted countless children over the years. He will be sadly missed but will always remain in our hearts. A private ceremony is to be held. Donations made to The Parkinson Society or the Hamilton General Hospital Burn Unit would be greatly appreciated.
