    It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Randy Harris, at his home, on July 29, 2024, from heart-related issues. Randy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend, and the loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Randy was a professional firefighter, serving proudly with the Hamilton Fire Department (Hamilton, Ontario) from 1987 until his retirement in 2014.

Randy’s dedication as a firefighter was only surpassed by his unwavering faith as a Christian. He attended church faithfully his whole life, rarely missing a service. He is survived by his loving wife Monique (nee Hazenberg), his children: Christopher (Erica), Kimberly (Colin), Riley (Bobby), Katherine, and Elizabeth, and his seven grandchildren. Randy was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy (nee Dorey), who passed away in 2003, and his parents, Pauline and Fred Harris, of Hamilton, Ontario.;

Randy is also survived by his brother Andrew (Bev), his sister Candace (Paul), and four nephews. He is predeceased by one nephew.

UPDATE: Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, both to take place at Calvary Church, 89 Scott Street, St. Catharines, Ontario. Randy's family will hold a reception following the service.

Randy's family wishes to thank our extended family, church family, many friends, colleagues, school families, rowing families, neighbours, and others for their prayers and condolences, and for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, emails, cards, texts, gifts, help, food, flowers, and compassion for our family during this time of tremendous loss, pain, and grief. We are upheld at this difficult time by your love, kindness, and prayers, and will be eternally grateful.

Additional condolences for the family may be shared below. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Randy’s memory can be made to Calvary Church (St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada).;
