  October 24, 1947 - April 3, 2023

  Service Dates
July 29, 1969 to November 30, 1999

Retired Captain of the Hamilton Fire Department.

Murray passed away peacefully on April 3, 2023, at the age of 75. Much loved husband of Elizabeth. Dear father of Kim (Craig) Thomson, Aaron (Becky) Caudle, step-father of Elliott (Carly) McWhirter. Proud grandpa of Ashley, Emmie, Evangeline, Maxine, and Jack. Survived by siblings Ron (Patricia), Alan, and Donna (the late John) Frankum, brothers-in-law David (Hedi) Stewart, Hugh (Barbara) Sherwood, and John (the late Nancy) Steele, godfather to Debbie (Tim) Garland, and loved by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Predeceased by his parents Orville and Marjorie Caudle, niece Barbara Caudle-Rogers, and step-son Michael McWhirter.

Murray enjoyed cooking, curling, golf, bridge, history, travelling, and making people laugh. He had an outgoing personality and loved spending time with family and friends.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. John Hadley, nurses Jeanette McLean, Disha Patel, and all of the caring staff at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre in Brantford who made Murray’s time there as comfortable as possible.

A Celebration of Murray's Life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. with spoken words at 3 p.m., at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dundas, ON (additional parking at the Air Force Club).

If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
