Peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, July 22, 1993, James J. Callan, in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Woods). Loving father of June and her husband Andy Laba, and of Jeannette and her husband Alan Adams of Sombra, Ont. Dear grandfather of Michael, Charlene, Kathleen, David and James. Loved brother of Patrick and his wife Evelyn of Milton, Ont. Also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Mr Callan was a retired Lieutenant with the Hamilton Fire Department, a former owner of Stanley Park Variety in Stoney Creek, an honourary member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1454, a member of the Navy Vets Association and the Royal Canadian Legion, Dunnville Branch.

Visitation at the P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1919 King Street East (opposite Miracle Mart), on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm, then to St Francis Xavier Catholic Church , Stoney Creek, for a Funeral Mass on Monday, July 26th, at 10 am (leaving the Funeral Home at 9:30). Prayer Vigil Sunday at 2:30 pm. Knights of Columbus Rosary Sunday at 7 pm. Interment Mountview Gardens.

Donations to the Hamilton General Hospital Burn Unit would be appreciated by the family.
