In his 71st
year, after a 16 month battle with lung cancer, Gordon finally
succumbed to complications from the illness and emphysema at
Jaravinski Hospital - Palliative Care Unit.
A veteran Hamilton Firefighter of 31 years, retiring in 1996 as
a Lieutenant.
Gordon is predeceased by his parents,
Vincent and Muriel Talbot of Hamilton, survived by his beloved
wife of 49 years Irene (nee Lee) Talbot, siblings Thelma (and
Terry - predeceased) Turner, Gary Talbot, Norma (and Charles)
Lutraan and Neil Talbot, his children Troy (and Carolyn) Talbot,
Dawn (and Lawrence) Huelin, and his grandchildren Erik (and Cas)
Talbot, Spencer (and Katrina) Talbot, Merrek Huelin, Zachary
Talbot, Cameron Talbot and Gregory Talbot, and dearest
brother-in-law and uncle to many exended family members too
numerous to name, but no less loved. A loving devoted husband,
father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed. Gord wanted us
to extend a special than you to the Dorcotrs and Nurses at
Juravinski Cancer Center for all their hard work, kindness and
support over the last 16 months, and from our family to the
Doctors and Nurses at the Juravinski Hospital - Palliative Care
Unit over the last six days for their kindness, patience,
understanding and the excellent care Gordon received in his
final days. As per Gord's wishes, cremation has taken place

A visitation with the family to pay respects to Gord will be
held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave E, Hamilton, on
Sunday January 8th, from 12pm to 4pm. All family, friends and
co-workers are welcome. Please, In lieu of flowers, donations to
the Juravinski Cancer Center and/or the Juravinski Hospital –
Palliative Care Unit are preferred. This is in accordance to
Gord’s wishes.
