Garry Smith Fire Chief

October 9, 1944 - September 9, 2023

	October 18, 1965 to December 20, 1996

		Sadly on September 9, 2023, Garry Smith passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital. Garry was a devoted husband to his wife Ruth for 59 years, a loving father to his daughter Kim and her husband Paul Croonen, and a dedicated Papa to his grandsons Troy and wife Lindsey, Kyle and wife Kelsey.   Garry was fortunate to also love and adore his great-grandchildren, Cooper and Logan and was predeceased by his great-grandson Cayson. Garry truly loved his family more than anything. Garry worked for The Hamilton Fire Department for 31 years, retiring as the Fire Chief. In his retirement he loved to hunt, fish, be with his loved ones, and never miss a Thursday with his friends He was a kind and caring person who touched the lives of everyone he met. Garry will be missed greatly by all of his friends and family, especially his dog Morgan. The family would like to thank the staff at Juravinski and St.Peter's.   In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St.Peter's Hospital. Cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held as Garry requested.
